Big shout out to Adi Helman and the amazing workshop she’s been leading weekly at the Brownstone!
The workshop, “Two Strangers (foreigners)” or שתיים זרות, was designed for Israeli women who live in NYC and share a unique experience of being foreign.
The participants are non-writers who are introduced to writing as a powerful tool for self expression and discovery through sharing with others.
All writing exercises revolve around the concepts of familiarity/unfamiliarity, belonging, alienation, language and translation, home, identification, etc.
For more info, feel free to reach out! We’re so happy to host Adi Helman for the class’s third semester.
